King Chulalongkorn Digital Archives

Project Background

In order to commemorate Chulalongkorn University’s Centennial in 2017, the Office of Academic Resources, Chulalongkorn University established King Chulalongkorn Digital Archives, in order to develop and sustain intellectual knowledge, based upon the vision and initiatives of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn. As a repository of knowledge as well as an academic resource for not only Chulalongkorn University, but also Thailand as well as the international academic community, the Archives is available through digital media, making it globally accessible and connected. The important and valuable information on King Chulalongkorn, the first patron of the university, will contribute to further studies and research well into the future.

Objectives

  1. To create the repository of knowledge, in honor of King Chulalongkorn, on his wisdom as well as his benevolence towards Chulalongkorn University as well as the Thai nation.
  2. To compile and disseminate invaluable knowledge and information on the reign of King Chulalongkorn, making them widely accessible to the academia, through digital media technology.
  3. To develop Chulalongkorn University’s intellectual heritage, on the occasion of the University Centennial.
